SAMe

S-adenosylmethionine is also known as ademetionine, SAM, or SAMe. The “e” in SAMe designates that SAM is endogenous. SAMe is a naturally occurring substance that functions as a methyl donor in methyl-transferase reactions for phospholipids, neurotransmitters, proteins, and deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).

Uses and Benefits:

SAMe is mainly used for osteoarthritis and depression. It has been widely accepted in European countries, where it first became popular as a therapeutic agent in the 1980s. SAMe has also been employed to treat intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, alcoholic liver cirrhosis, fibromyalgia, and migraine headaches, and for a variety of other conditions.

Pharmacology:

SAMe is formed by the amino acid methionine and adenosyltriphosPhate (ATP); it is not an essential nutrient in humans. Endogenously, folic acid and vitamin are required for its synthesis. SAMe may offer chondroprotective properties by enhancing synthesis of proteoglycans in articular chondrocytes. SAMe may also inhibit tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a) which is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that has been implicated in the patho

http://www.stopfibromyalgianow.com,

Hello,

Here is a review of Jane Thompson’s eBook “The Natural Cure to Fibromyalgia” which I have actually purchased myself.

You can go to the website of this product by going to http://www.stopfibromyalgianow.com and then clicking on The Natural Cure to Fibromyalgia under the Product Recommendations Section at the top of the column on the right hand side.

The reason I created this product review is because I wanted to give people an informed look at what they are considering buying before they do.

In this review I go through the website as well as actually open up The Natural Cure to Fibromyalgia eBook (which I purchased myself) and show you an overview of what exactly is inside of it.

I also open up all of the bonus eBooks included in this product and show you inside them too. These include a bonus Fibromyalga eBook (which has a daily worksheet), a Irritable Bowel Syndrome eBook, a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome eBook and an Acid Reflux eBook all designed to help you rid yourself of those ailments.

This way I believe you will make a much more informed decision.

Also feel free to visit and check out my site (http://www.stopfibromyalgianow.com) for videos, discussions, articles, Q&A’s and more product reviews pertaining to Fibromyalgia.

We are there to inform you, help you cope with and help you find potential treatments for Fibromyalgia.

Mental Health And Vitamin Supplements: How These Work Together For An Overall Healthy You

Posted in Treat Chronic Fatigue Naturally by admin

The positive effects of the use of discount vitamins are more prevalent today than in the past. It is estimated that there are approximately 44.3 million people in the United States with a diagnosable mental disorder. These can range from depression, bipolar disorder, and premenstrual syndrome, to schizophrenia and anxiety disorders. In light of those tough statistics, mental health and medical professionals know that keeping the body and physical wellbeing healthy, can actually decrease the symptoms related to most mental illnesses.

The most important step of all is to first see a doctor or mental health specialist, either to be tested and diagnosed or to discuss with them the alternative discount vitamins that are best for your situation. While many of the disorders are rather different from one another, the types of vitamins used to treat them are fairly common.

* Depression – Depression can be a side effect to some other drugs, including oral contraceptives. Your doctor or specialist may want to perform a test on what are called the homocysteine levels in order to check for folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiencies. If diagnosed with depression, there are several choices in discount vitamins and supplements including folate, vitamin B12, amino acid supplements – specifically the amino acid L-tryptophan, and vitamin B6. Another popular treatment with those who prefer natural medicines is the use of ginkgo biloba. Ginkgo is also used to treat asthma, hypertension, Alzheimer’s disease and more.

* Bipolar Disorder – Bipolar Disorder, closely associated with Seasonal Affective Disorder, is naturally treated with some of the same vitamins as depression and anxiety. Most commonly used are a mixture of vitamin B1, vitamin B6, zinc, vitamin B2 and vitamin B complex. Studies have also shown that these same vitamins in addition to biotin, boron, and manganese and fish oil can be used to treat Bipolar Disorder II.

* Anxiety – As one of the most common forms of mental illness, anxiety at certain levels can also cause fatigue, psychological and physical stress, excessive alcohol consumption and even anorexia and insomnia. Anxiety studies have also shown a links to folic acid deficiency. Many treatments include vitamin B12 and folic acid. In recent years, St. John’s Wort has become a popular alternative due the ingredients hypericin and pseudohypericin, which has also shown to be helpful in ceasing anxiety.

* Premenstrual Syndrome (also know as PMS) – For women, this is one of the most common types of disorders. In recent studies, it has been shown that most women do not take the Recommended Daily Allowance for magnesium, which is now believed to be one of the causes for premenstrual syndrome. Magnesium is known for relating to mood changes, so it is one of the most common supplements used in treating PMS. Calcium and vitamin D are also good for premenstrual syndrome. Four servings of skim of low fat milk is a great way to get that extra calcium needed.

* Schizophrenia – Schizophrenia is a disabling and chronic brain disorder that affects approximately one percent of people in the world. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate, the active form of vitamin B6, is very important to the brain functioning normally. This supplement, along with folic acid, methylfolate, niacin, and vitamin C are some of the vitamin supplements used to treat schizophrenics.

Once there has been a determination of the vitamins that can be used in your specific case, purchasing quality vitamins at a discount price is the next step. These can be found anywhere from vitamin outlet stores, the Internet, magazine and on television through home shopping channels. The Internet, being the most convenient way to shop, offers consumers a world of opportunity in finding the best quality discount vitamins at the most reasonable price. The most desirable sites offer considerable information all the vitamins and herbs they sell, showing that they are committed to the overall health and well being of the customers. These sites break down each vitamin and provide an explanation of how it should be used, the dosage amount and size. In addition, some offer their customers health and wellness articles that can provide the most up-to-date information of discount vitamins, health issues, and alternative medicines, in turn giving each customer the ability to make the right decisions in the purchases they make.

Water is another extremely important part of keeping ourselves healthy. To many, water is just water and nothing else, but recently this has changed. Now called “Functional Water” by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), bottled water is now classified by its origin.

* Spring water – spring water derives from the point where ground water flows, sometimes flowing as a result of snow and ice melting or rain.

* Purified water – This water can come from any source (ocean, spring, well, etc.), but is then purified using a process called reverse osmosis.

* Mineral water – Mineral water contains minerals which can alter or change the taste of the water. This water is one of the most popular types purchased, and commercially offered in over 3000 brands.

* Distilled water – Distilled water is used in many ways, most commonly known for being used to clean car batteries. The water becomes distilled by boiling it and re-condensing the steam into a container, thus removing any contaminants.

* Vitamin added water – As one of the most popular types of water available today, this water is available with or without additional flavors, such as strawberry, lemon or grape. The vitamin water contains distilled water, electrolytes, and vitamins such as C, B6, B12 and E.

No matter the choice of discount vitamins chosen or the type of water that best fits your tastes, these simple and inexpensive additions to everyday life can truly change the way you think and feel. Dealing with a mental illness can be one of the hardest things in life, but there is help available. Making an appointment and speaking to your doctor or a health professional today can give anyone the ability to start living a life that is more fulfilling and happy.

Low Level Laser Therapy Treatment for Fibromyalgia, Chronic

To learn more please visit us at http://www.ScalarWaveLasers.com cold Lasers, low level lasers, soft lasers. Sounds too good to be true, but a low-level laser therapy can help you with many conditions that involves pain, especially where traditional medication has failed. Although, the low-level laser therapy is considered an alternative option, it is the most effective option available without any known side effects. LASER stands for “Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation”. First invented by Albert Einstein (1879-1955), this formed the basis for evolution of the therapeutic laser in 1962. The first therapeutic use of a low-level laser was reported by Endre Mester (Hungary), who observed that the rate of healing of wounds accelerated by the use of low-level laser radiation. Medical use of low-level lasers has grown exponentially since and has contributed greatly to the wellness of humankind.
Low-level laser therapy or LLLT is one of the most exciting and fast growing areas of alternative medicine in the recent times. After decades of research, today low-level laser light is used to attribute the same benefits to the human body in a more effective and concentrated form. This is possible because the low-level laser is a compressed beam of light form the red, cold part of the electromagnetic radiation spectrum. It is a single colored beam of light of a consistent wavelength and can be polarized easily. Due to these properties a low-level laser can easily penetrate the skin without any heat dissipation, damage or side effects and directs the very essential biostimulative light energy to the cells. The cells in turn convert such light energy to chemical energy and promote natural healing resulting in pain relief. http://www.scalarwavelasers.com/lasers.html
Low-level lasers provide the human body with non-thermal light photons, which transmits through the layers of skin. Although all wavelengths are known to penetrate the subcutaneous tissue, the infrared range is known to penetrate the deepest. This penetration optimizes the immune responses in human blood and brings forth the immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory effects in addition to making the body cells absorb needed energy and oxygen.
These effects of the low level laser light on human body promotes natural healing and thus the LLLT therapy is known to work where traditional medication involving Analgesics, muscle relaxants, anti-inflammatory medicines, sleep modifiers, antidepressant medicines or anti-anxiety medicines have failed. The LLLT therapy benefits the human body by biostimulation, increasing cell metabolism, improving vasodilatation and bringing in analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. Please join us for more of our videos at http://www.ScalarWaveLasers.com/video.htmlThus, a low-level laser therapy can cure a host of conditions that involve pain relief and fatigue that may result form injuries, accidents, migraine, cold sores and the likes. Natural Remedies For Irritable Bowel Syndrome Migraine

Posted in Treat Fibromyalgia Naturally by admin
Aug 23 2009

Studies have shown a definite irritable bowel syndrome migraine link. In fact some studies brought to light that those with IBS are really getting a bum deal as they are also at a greater risk of suffering with migraines, depression and fibromyalgia.

The migraines are much the same as those experienced by non-IBS sufferers. Symptoms include: moderate to severe pain on one or both sides of the head; a pulsating or throbbing pain; pain that is worse whenever you are physically active; nausea with or without vomiting; and sensitivity to light or sound.

Thankfully there are some natural remedies that can be used for migraines. However you need to ensure that they do not interact with any medication or treatments you are taking for other Irritable Bowel Syndrome symptoms, or for any other condition for that matter.

These include:
1. Feverfew is an herb that has been used for centuries as a traditional remedy for migraines. It is said to be able to both prevent and treat migraines. However, it can cause abdominal pain, gas, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and nervousness in some. Also, if you are taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) you should not take this herb.

2. 5-HTP, which is also known as 5-Hydroxytryptophan, is a compound that your body produces. It is used for making serotonin and the melatonin. This is also available in the form of a supplement that comes from the seeds of an African plant, called Griffonia simplicifolia. Unfortunately, you will have to take this for between 4 to 6 months before it will become effective in reducing the severity and duration of your migraine headaches

3. Magnesium can naturally be found in leafy green vegetables, nuts, seeds and whole grains. Of course, it can also be taken as a supplement. It is known to help regulate blood sugar levels. Plus, it is needed for normal muscle and nerve function, heart rhythm, immune function, blood pressure, and for bone health. Studies have shown that magnesium can reduce the frequency and severity of your migraines by 42% when taken for 9 weeks. However, if you have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, you should know that one of magnesium’s side effects is diarrhea, digestive irritation, nausea and loss of appetite. Also, you will need to be careful not to take this supplement while taking muscle relaxants

4. Butterbur is an herb that comes from a shrub-like plant that grows in northern Asia, Europe and parts of North America. It can be used to treat migraines as well as stomach cramps. This herb can help to prevent migraines within 2 to 4 months of when you begin taking it. The side effects include mild digestive complaints, which was mainly burping. However, you could also notice indigestion, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation. You also should not take this herb if you are allergic to ragweed, as this herb is part of the ragweed plant family.

As you can see from the above list, you should always seek the advice of a nutritionist, dietician of your physician if you are going to seek an alternative course of treatment for migraine pain. They can consider your condition and personal circumstances and identify the best approach to resolve your irritable bowel syndrome migraine, as well as any other symptoms you may be suffering.
